Good luck and thanks for trying to spread the word about Krita!įinally, one of the things that makes Krita special is that it's open source, which means that anybody is free to go into the program's source code and make any mods or changes that they want. That's probably a bit beyond what you're looking to do, but it's just something cool about Krita that most other programs cannot say! =] This obviously requires a bit more work and some knowledge of C++ and Qt coding, but in effect it means that there are almost no limits to what you, I, or anybody else can do. If not, maybe you can share the one that you create!įinally, one of the things that makes Krita special is that it's open source, which means that anybody is free to go into the program's source code and make any mods or changes that they want. I don't know for sure, but it's also possible that somebody online has already made a Krita workspace or shortcut set that's close to what you want. Then you can save both the workspace and the keyboard shortcut set and share them with your friend. You can also edit keyboard shortcuts to make things even more like what they're used to. You can remove dockers or add extra dockers from the Settings > Dockers menu. You can do this by clicking on the title bar/name tag of any existing docker and dragging to a different edge of the screen. CPS is great for saving time, but if you genuinely want to improve your skills as an artist, draw from life (don’t rely on textures and 3d models that help you cheat, go outside, take pictures or just draw right there). The easiest way is to get something close to what you want by rearranging all of the "dockers" (little windows) in a way that's similar to whatever program they're used to. There are manga artists who have really tight deadlines and they don’t have the time to draw those repetitive details. So in the end, CPS is a lot about efficiency.

Like… all these years I’ve been suffering from trying to draw repetitive things and all along there was a program that did it all for you? and there’s a 3d modelling thing for props and people? I hate drawing on CSP because I’m so used to the SAI stabilizer.

I have a friend who draws at 1000 dpi on SAI and they have no problem O Ĭlip studio paint is a more professional program and I only got it because I wanted to make a doujinshi and it’s just a lot faster to create panels and add text on CPS than on SAI. If you’re gonna be making huge files (like zine pieces, prints, anything printed), it has a higher chance of crashing (depending on how new your computer is). To sum it up, paint tool SAI is more for illustrators and a great program to use as a hobby.

no (nasty) opaque background layer when you open a new canvas (I want to draw straight on a transparent canvas with no weird checkerboard thing).pretty easy to use brush settings (and you can make tons of them).no text/shape (but i think you can make shapes in the new SAI 2?).luminosity layer setting is brighter than photoshop (actually the only reason i got paint tool sai was for the luminosity layer mode that i saw in many speedpaints LMAO).many many speedpaints (that’s what inspired me to get the program years before I got into digital art).If you’re looking for a general review, here’s what I know! (I use paint tool sai for all my drawings (unless i say otherwise) because it’s what I’ve been using since 2015 and I’m most comfortable with that program since I have more experience with it!)Īll art programs are pretty much the same, but here are some of my thoughts on the two programs! stuff about paint tool sai: so you’ll find a way no matter what you choose!) Hello!! sorry this is so late aaa for programs, the short answer is: it doesn’t matter <3ĭifferent artists have different tastes and preferences, and if you’re just a beginner to digital art, then no matter which program you choose, the more you use it and get to know it, the easier the program will be for you (I used to draw on an online drawing website that didn’t have layers (so like MS paint but worse) but I eventually knew every function of every tool and I used that program (?) to draw commissions, make animations, and draw stuff in general.
